Surf Gravity Family Bio’s
Surf Gravity is proud to announce that the daring Devore Duo, Nick and Katrina, are committed to cultivating and inspiring human potential and environmental stewardship through the Surf Gravity movement.
Nick lives in a tipi in his birthplace of Aspen and embraces native wisdom. He aspires to take care of our mother earth and preserve the delicate natural balance that is critical for life and surfing gravity. First descents down Denali, victories in alpine freeskiing contests, big lines in ski movies, appearances in ski magazines, high results in endurance races and yoga teaching certifications represent Devore’s well-rounded talent. When DeVore’s not skiing he is speed flying, practicing yoga, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, dancing, playing didgeridoo and organically growing vegetables. He believes in the Hopi way of life, to blend with the earth and celebrate life and hopes to help bring environmental awareness to the skiing world and beyond.

Katrina DeVore was born and raised in Aspen, CO. She grew up ski racing for Aspen Valley Ski Club. At the age of 11, her mother took her and her brother to live in Chamonix, France for a year where she skied big mountains and joined the local climbing team. Katrina traveled all over Europe skiing, climbing, and competing in climbing competitions. When she returned to the U.S., she continued to compete in climbing throughout high school doing well in Regionals allowing her to continue on and compete in two National Championship climbing competitions against the best in the United States. She also continued to ski and play hockey throughout high school and university. Katrina graduated from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York in 2010 with a degree in Environmental Studies. After spending four years on the East Coast, she was eager to return to Aspen and pursue skiing. For the past few years she has been competing throughout the world in big mountain freeskiing competitions with a podium finish and multiple top ten finishes. Katrina is passionate about life in the outdoors, the environment, connections with people, and is constantly striving to be in alignment with her highest self. She wants to live her dreams and inspire others to do the same so that we can all evolve, practice, co-create, and live meaningful, conscious, creative lives!
